Research has shown that by sleeping with your jaw in an upward and forward position, you increase the size of your airway which reduces airway velocity and soft tissue vibration. The jaw supporter works with the same principles as CPR – the airway must be open to allow air to pass through your throat(duhhh). An airway that is constricted or collapsed will cause snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. The stop snoring chin strap will hold your lower jaw in place so that it does not fall backwards and down which collapses your airway.
